Homebuyer Mistakes – worth reading linked article

Some people buy homes like you and I buy candy.  Some are smart investors and others, probably acting on the results of some info-commercial or free, lunch supplied, presentation by some smart talking but probably not rich sales people.  If you are in this group, you are probably sporting some war wounds from buying houses.  For those making the money – probably learned their lessons and are profiting from them.

But, the majority of homebuyers probably don’t fit that mold and are susceptible to errors in their judgement and the buying of the home.  In this blog I have promoted the hiring of a house inspector to minimize the negative aspects of house buying.

I found this one link written by Amy Fontinelle called:

“10 Worst First-Time Homebuyer Mistakes “

For those looking at buying a home for the first time and, for those who have been whipped a bit in the housing market, I think these points are something you should read.  And, for the veteran homebuyer, a visit will either confirm your experience or, maybe reinforce a point you have forgotten.

There are a few I wish I’d seen prior to my Mattamy buy.  One is Point 8 about getting an inspection.  New or old – a house inspection has the potential of saving you thousands…

Spend a few moments reading Amy’s article – time well spent.
